L'Chaim

Toasting "L'Chaim!" is a standard way to celebrate a monumental milestone like an upcoming wedding, the birth of a new grandchild, or driving your fresh new car off the lot. In english we'd say "congratulations" but in Hebrew the intention is a cheers to life, life being so good we got to this moment.

My youngest sister got engaged and as the family designer, I got tasked with creating a welcome sign for the engagement party. I find that a lot of welcome signs are thrown away after an event which... sucks for my part. So in an effort to mark the moment, I turned the conventional way-finding "did I arrive at the right house" welcome sign into a piece of art she and her partner would want to hang in their home.
