This is She
My first animated short film; This is She. The film is essentially my visual commentary on women's equality. I feel like women receive a distorted view of the world; a view filtered through the lens of men. In this way women are made to fit into certain standards and end up being seen as a processed 'thing', inhuman. It's almost an imprisonment. I took the motif of a barcode to represent that process, which turn into the bars of a jail cell, etc. It is when all women come together can we break free from imprisonment and regain our humanity. Unless we truly come together, we will go back to being a process.
Individual frames were hand painted in Photoshop, then animated in After Effects.
